Collection: VMAX Climax

VMAX Climax (Japanese: VMAX Klimax) is a high pull-rate set released in December 2021 as the closing chapter of the Sword and Shield era in Japan. It functions as a "best of" reprint set, gathering popular V, VMAX, and Character Rare cards from across the Sword and Shield block into one expansion. Collectors look to VMAX Climax for its Character Rare and Character Super Rare slots, which feature trainers in painted, scene-based artwork that was never released in the equivalent English sets.

What sits in the Japanese print run

Because this is a Japanese collection, expect the tighter centring, glossier card stock, and crisper holo patterns that Japanese pulls are known for. Several of the headline chase cards, including the Character Rares and Character Super Rares, were not printed in any English release, so the Japanese version is the only way to add them to your binder.

Rarity tiers and chase cards

The set runs from Common and Uncommon staples through to Double Rare V cards, Super Rare full art trainers, and the sought after Character Super Rare slot at the top end. From our current inventory you can pick up Rapid Strike Urshifu V 094/184 (JP) and Eternatus V 109/184 (JP) as clean V additions, alongside Cafe Master 271/184 (JP), one of the painted trainer pulls that defines the set.
