About the BREAKpoint set

BREAKpoint arrived in February 2016 as the ninth English expansion of the XY era, slotting in between BREAKthrough and Generations. The set continued the BREAK Evolution mechanic, with horizontally oriented gold-bordered cards that stack on top of their evolution to inherit attacks while adding new abilities. With 122 cards in the base set, BREAKpoint balanced classic favourites from earlier eras with new Mega Evolution support and competitive staples that defined Pokemon TCG play in 2016.

Cards to look out for

Highlights of the BREAKpoint range include Greninja BREAK, the standout chase card praised for its art and competitive viability, alongside M Scizor EX (120/122) and M Gyarados EX (27/122) full arts which remain collector favourites. Manaphy EX in full art (116/122) is a popular pickup for water-type collectors. The set also features Ho-Oh EX, Palkia EX, Gyarados EX, and Espeon EX in their EX or full art treatments.
