This is Lapras VMAX, card 203/202 from the Sword and Shield Base Set, the set that launched the Sword and Shield era in 2020. This card gives the gentle, much loved Lapras the VMAX treatment alongside a Rainbow Secret Rare finish.
The VMAX mechanic represents the Dynamax form, an oversized and powerful evolution introduced in the Sword and Shield generation, shown through bold artwork that fills the whole card. The Rainbow treatment layers a shimmering multicoloured texture over the design, a finish reserved for the very top rarities of each set.
The 203/202 numbering runs past the base set size of 202, which confirms this card is a Secret Rare sitting beyond the main set. Rainbow Rares are among the most chased cards of the era for their distinctive look, and Lapras has been a fan favourite since the very first generation. This makes it a lovely display card for Sword and Shield collectors and Lapras fans alike.
