Iron Thorns ex is card 077/167 from Twilight Masquerade, a Scarlet and Violet era expansion released in 2024. As a Pokemon ex card, Iron Thorns carries a raised hit point total and the modern ex frame, and a knock out gives the opponent two prize cards rather than one. Iron Thorns is one of the future paradox Pokemon introduced in the Scarlet and Violet generation, a mechanical counterpart drawn from the same line as a familiar species.
Collectors look for the Iron Thorns ex both as a set staple from Twilight Masquerade and as part of the wider paradox Pokemon theme that runs through the Scarlet and Violet era. Its 077/167 numbering places it inside the main set rather than among the secret cards. The ex slots into a Twilight Masquerade run, a paradox focused page, or a competitive Scarlet and Violet deck where the higher hit point pool is valued.
