This is Gallade from Cosmic Eclipse, the final main set of the Sun and Moon era and one of the largest English releases of its time. Gallade is a well recognised evolution of Ralts and Kirlia, and it has appeared across many sets over the years, which keeps it on the radar of long term collectors.
The card is a Secret Rare, confirmed both by its tag and by the number 244/236: because the first number sits above the set total of 236, this card falls outside the standard numbered list and into the secret slots reserved for the harder to find chase cards. Secret rares are printed at the very end of a set's numbering and typically carry a more decorative finish than the regular cards.
Collectors look for Gallade here both for the appeal of a secret rare from a major set and for Gallade's lasting popularity as a fan favourite. Cards from Cosmic Eclipse remain a frequent target for those completing the Sun and Moon run.
