Dark Gyarados (8/82) comes from the English Celebrations set, the 25th anniversary release from 2021. Celebrations paired a small main set with a Classic Collection of reprinted cards drawn from across the games history, and Dark Gyarados is one of those throwback designs that returns a fan favourite to a modern card.
Dark Gyarados is a powerful Water type known from the early Team Rocket era of the game, and this anniversary version revives that classic artwork and the Dark Pokemon styling for collectors who remember the original. The collector number 8/82 sits within the set total of 82, so this is a card from the main numbering rather than a secret rare.
Celebrations cards are a favourite with collectors who enjoy nostalgia and anniversary themed releases, and Dark Gyarados is recognised as one of the more characterful reprints in the line up.
