Cobalion GX 189/181 is a Secret Rare from Team Up, an English Sun and Moon era expansion. The card number 189 sits beyond the printed set total of 181, which is what makes it a secret rare, a bonus card numbered past the main set.
This Cobalion is a Rainbow Rare GX, the pastel rainbow textured finish that defined the secret rare GX cards of the Sun and Moon era. These Rainbow Rares were among the hardest pulls in their sets and remain a focal point for collectors of the period. As a GX Pokemon, Cobalion brought a powerful single use GX attack to the table during its run in the format.
Cobalion is one of the Swords of Justice legendaries, which gives this card extra appeal for fans of that group, and the Rainbow Rare finish makes it a recognisable chase card from Team Up.
