About the Ancient Roar set

Ancient Roar is a Japanese expansion within the Scarlet and Violet era, part of the wider Ancient and Future theme that pairs prehistoric Pokemon with their futuristic counterparts. The set centres on the Ancient line, leaning into raw, primal designs and a darker colour palette. As a Japanese print, these cards arrive with the tighter centring and glossier card stock collectors recognise from Pokemon Card Japan releases, and the run includes Art Rare (AR) and Special Art Rare (SAR) treatments that are not always reproduced in the English equivalents.

Cards and rarities to look for

Our current Ancient Roar inventory features Tsareena EX 020/066 (JP) as the headline Double Rare, alongside two of the most chased secret-rare slots: Mienshao 072/066 (JP) and Brute Bonnet 077/066 (JP), both sitting above the set total as Art Rares. Across the broader expansion you can expect Double Rare EX cards, Illustration Rares with full-bleed artwork, Special Illustration Rares featuring the trainer or Pokemon in scene, and the occasional Hyper Rare gold treatment. The Japanese pulls are a favourite among collectors who want the original artwork before the English localisation lands.

Condition and shipping

Every card listed is mint or better, pulled straight from sealed Japanese product and sleeved on arrival. We ship Australia-wide with tracked postage from our Brisbane base, and toploaders are standard on every order.
