About the XY Era

The XY era ran from 2014 through to early 2017 and marked the arrival of Mega Evolution in the Pokemon TCG. It introduced Mega EX cards, Spirit Link trainers, and later the BREAK Evolution mechanic, giving collectors a recognisable visual style and a deep pool of cards to chase. Sets in this range include the base XY set, Evolutions (the 20th anniversary throwback to Base Set), Steam Siege, BREAKpoint, and the wider XY block. For many Australian collectors, this is the era that pulled them back into the hobby.

What You Will Find in the XY Range

This collection brings together 123 cards from across the XY block in a single place. You will find Holo and Reverse Holo staples like Zapdos Holo 42/108 and Pidgeot Spirit Link Reverse Holo 81/108, alongside playable Pokemon EX such as Hoopa EX 36/98, Palkia EX 31/122 and Kangaskhan EX 78/106. BREAK cards like Machamp BREAK 60/108 sit beside Full Art EX variants and the Evolutions reprints that recreated the look of the original 1999 set.

Rarity Tiers and Chase Cards

Expect to see standard Holo rares, Reverse Holos, Pokemon EX, Mega EX, Full Art EX, BREAK cards, and a handful of Secret Rare numbers above the set total (such as Altaria EX 123/124 and M Charizard EX). Trainer Full Arts and Spirit Link cards round out the chase list.
