About the Battle Styles set

Battle Styles released in March 2021 as the fifth main expansion in the Sword and Shield era. The set centres on the rivalry between Single Strike and Rapid Strike, two combat philosophies introduced through Urshifu and carried across Trainers, Energy, and supporting Pokemon. For collectors, it sits in the early-to-mid Sword and Shield run, a period where VMAX cards were peaking in popularity and Alternate Art treatments started gaining real traction on the secondary market.

Cards and rarities to look for

The chase pulls in this collection are led by the Urshifu V and Urshifu VMAX line, with both Single Strike and Rapid Strike variants available. Tapu Koko VMAX is the favourite secret rare for many collectors, and the Alternate Art Tapu Koko V at 166/163 remains one of the most recognised cards from the era. We also stock supporting staples like Single Strike Energy 183/163, Korrina's Focus, and Level Ball, which are useful for both competitive players and Trainer collectors organising a complete master set.
